Swatchy Swatch

Watchy the Swatchy Introduction At the beginning of this project I knew that you could make your own colors using Adobe softwares, I just did not actually know how to go about doing this; nor did I know that you could manipulate the value of a color after creating it to create different hues. I thought that the only way to create a color with a different hue was to select a lighter version while using the original color selector window. Creation  Inspiration  With the SGA elections happening in the past week, and having a roommate running for secretary, many of us were focused on the candidates and the items they were giving away. Having a roommate running for office made me very interested in the election, and had me doing campaigning. This pin for Katy Parisi, our SGA president elect, was an important part of my outfits this past week, and I appreciated the colors that were represented here. Color Selection I knew I wanted my darkest hues to be fairly dark, however, wi...

Introduction  This project has given me much to expand my knowledge with in terms of PhotoShop. Throughout this creation of a rough draft for the official meme project I used the many resources provided to me as well as google to help me learn these techniques and improve on my skills. Major Learnings Layers I went into this project without much knowledge of how to create multiple layers or to ensure that I create new layers throughout the creation. Using the knowledge from in class working as well as "HowToMeme 01: Preparing the Layers" I was able to ensure that I was properly layering my work in a way that would make the project more manageable in the long run (Heagney, 2019).  Smart Images Before starting this project I had never heard of a smart image before. Learning about Smart Images has been game changing. It is so much easier to be able to edit the images I add in without disturbing the background image, as well as not altering the image in a way that will destr...

Let's Get Down to Business Introduction  Coming into this assignment having no knowledge of Adobe InDesign was intimidating. There was much for me to learn by completing this assignment, and even now that I have completed it I know that there is much more for me to continue to learn. Using this software can be challenging at times when just starting out, but overall it has the ability to become user friendly as knowledge expands.  Major Learnings Document Setup While setting up the document I had forgotten to include the bleed lines for the document, having already finished adding in all of my information and logo, I did not want to have to restart. I remembered back to one of the videos I had watched that had taught me how to adjust the original settings after the document is already set up (Wood, 2018) This allowed me to correct my mistakes without starting over.  Bleed Lines Before this assignment I only had slight knowledge of what a bleed line was. It can be di...

Tess' Plants

Photo Card Pictures Introduction For the subject of my photo cards I elected to use one of my suite mate's plants. Since I took these pictures as the sun was going down and my suite mate had pink lights in her room I chose to use the hallway of Finch to take these pictures. The hallway of Finch adds both difficult and helpful characteristics when working the shot.  Angle  I chose this angle because usually a plant that sits on a window sill is not seen from the below area. Seeing a plant from this angle that is only about ten inches tall from this angle makes it appear to be much larger than it actually is. This challenges the viewers' belief of a common, small, house plant. Light Space While the space in the background may not be completely light, it still acts as a lightened area for the background of this photo. The use of the light wall compared to the darkness of the carpet makes the top half of the picture significantly lighter than the bottom half.  Symmetry  ...
